Drum roll – the time has come! Finally you get an insight into a minimalist wardrobe. Logically, that after I told my personal story about green minimalism, it’s about my minimalist wardrobe. What do I own of everything? Of course, the article will be updated when garments should be put on or taken off.
First of all, I want to make it clear that my closet is not made up of fifteen parts, as perhaps with other minimalists. But I also do not own 40 pieces of clothing. The number can vary from one person to the other, and currently, I feel very comfortable with the crowd even though I could actually sort out a few more parts. Which they are, you can read at the end of this article.
Of course, I own a Capsule Wardrobe. How could I not? My Capsule Wardrobe consists of the colors black, white, gray with few beige and green tones. All garments can be combined with each other, which of course is a prerequisite of a Capsule Wardrobe. My colors of Capsule Wardrobe are even reflected – almost! – in my life again. Lately, I noticed that even my bike fits in the color look and please do not forget: my safety razor in gold.
Crazy? Maybe! But happier, because I buy very consciously and targeted and thus possess less, but at higher quality. And that does not just affect the clothes. If you do not know exactly what a minimized wardrobe is good for, you may like to read through the advantages of a minimalist wardrobe first.
Let’s start with the garment I own most: T-shirts. I put them on almost daily and they are perfect for the onion look that brings me through every winter. All in all, I currently own 9 T-shirts, of which 4 are dark and 5 are light.
What is striking about my minimalist wardrobe is that I have very few pattern or statement shirts. Nevertheless, the Female Future Force shirt was allowed to move in with me, because it is not only a good statement, but I also find Edition F very supportive.
Long Sleeve Shirt / Pullover / Blouse
In the second category called long sleeve shirt / pullover / blouse there are only 4 pieces of clothing. The two sweaters in dark green and black are from Armedangels (the same model). For example, I wore the black sweater in this outfit.
In this category you can also easily see which cuts I like to wear. I love every garment with a high collar. That’s why I’m always looking forward to colder days, as I always can not wait to wear high collar garments again.
I’m not lacking on pants as you can tell. In the first row you can see the pants that I really wear very often. A gray pleated trousers, two black jeans and gray jeans. The black jeans (second from left) and the gray jeans (third from left) are from Kings of Indigo and – once again – the same model (model Christina). But I would like to add that the other black jeans (1st row far right) is slowly kicking the bucket, and therefore, I have been looking for a substitute a few months ago. Since I’m very satisfied with my first pair of Kings of Indigo jeans, I bought the black jeans on gadgets, so Second Hand, before.
In the second row is a blue boyfriend jeans, a black summer pants by Armedangels Tencel (see this outfit), a short shorts and jogging pants. I hardly wear the boyfriend jeans – shame on me. However, I do not want to give them away, because the denim feels incredibly high-quality and I’ve even had the zipper done. I really want to wear it to the bitter end, even though I do not wear it often.
I really do not own dresses now. On the left we see a dress from Jan ‘n June, which consists of Tencel and is perfect for the summer. An outfit to the dress you can look here. On the right you see a maxi dress, which I wear at weddings, etc.
In this category we can add another maxi dress in a beautiful royal blue. This I also put on weddings. Picture follows.
Since the black blazer (middle) shows strong signs of wear, I bought the black blazer (left) from Filippa K. via dress gyro. Unfortunately, the blazer by Filippa K. is apparently useless for daily use, as I already had it not for even half a year. I’m curious, which I finally have to sort out first. Both are not in good shape anymore, but both are essential for me.
I wear the cardigan on the right side, especially in fall / winter, over one of the T-shirts or sweaters presented above.
In my wardrobe there are 4 jackets, of which I could actually cross out one. As a minimalist, of course, it is unnecessary to own two trench coats. But I can not separate myself from both, because the colors always upgrade my looks for spring / summer. The trench coat in beige is fair and you can see an outfit here.
In the last category, I introduce you to my shoes. Pictured are six pair of shoes, I still have to add my Adiletten. I always wear them as slippers, so I forgot about them when I took the pictures.
In terms of color you can see from this category again that I am very faithful to my colors of Capsule Wardrobe. The sandals in gold complement each other perfectly to the summer clothes, the remaining shoes are white or black. Except the Adiletten, which I still have in the classic dark blue.
Currently I own two backpacks, one in black, the other in dark green. I like to use the black backpack for events or private meetings because it is a bit smaller. The dark green backpack I wear for traveling or for the university, as this has a laptop compartment.
A clutch or similar small handbags to go out I do not own. If the question arises, where I then pack my purse, cell phone and keys: the blazers from above and the jackets all have pockets. For example, I pay attention to such small things with every purchase I do. At weddings, my boyfriend pocketed the purse and the key. The mobile phone may also like to stay at home at such events.
I do not have a lot of accessories, but I still count on:
- 1x scarf
- 1x cap
- 1x headband
- 1x gloves
Who still wants to know what I have on jewelry:
- 2x earrings in gold
- 1x engagement ring
- 1x clock
What else could I sort out?
Of course I could sort out some pieces, but I don’t, because there are no closet corpses and I like to wear them. The only reason why I could sort out the following clothes would be the double execution of the garment.
- 1x black blazer
- 1x black jeans
- 1x trench coat
- 1x black T-shirt
Actually, I do not need two black blazers, nor two black jeans etc. but as long as you wear the clothes, it’s perfectly legitimate to keep them.
