Solid hair shampoo (bar) saves a lot of plastic waste and leaves a clean and beautiful hair feeling that we want after shampooing. We tested four different hair shampoos for you and found that they’re all different for quite a bit. To what extent they differ, we reveal in the post.
Solid Shampoo vs. Hair Soap
‘I also like to wash my hair with hair soap.’ Just a moment. Hold on. Stop. Hair soap is NOT hair shampoo or vice versa. Many do not know the difference of a solid shampoo and hair soap and that’s fine too, because often the brands are at fault themselves and responsible for this confusion. It always annoys us when brands write ‘shampoo’ on their product, even though it’s hair soap. This confuses the customer and annoys you even in the worst case, if the product does not leave a nice hair feeling.
We get to the point. If you want to know the exact difference between shampoo and hair soap, you should definitely read the article on the unpacked alternatives to the shampoo bottle. Speaking of firm shampoos, they are also called shampoo bars.
Green Shampoo – Your loving nature / 50g for 14,00 Euros
Everything smells nice. The green hair shampoo from Your loving nature is suitable for normal to rather quickly greasy hair and provides volume, grip and leaves a light hair feeling. What blew us away from this hair shampoo: the scent. When buying the first shampoo, the customer receives the product with a handy storage box. If you leave this can open, the whole bathroom smells of fresh mint. Definitely our fragrance test winner!
Conclusion: The hair feels very pleasant after shampooing, is easy to comb and shines beautifully. The shampoo foams wonderfully and can be distributed very well. The only drawback is that the hair is greased up again relatively quickly. For other shampoo bars, two days without shampooing were no problem. The green shampoo had to be used more often for a clean hair feeling.
Glitter Shampoo – Lamazuna / 55g for 9,95 Euros
The winter can come. Glitter, orange, cinnamon and star anise – the combination reminds us of the holiday season and the glitter on the shampoo is reminiscent of the glowing Christmas tree. Before some people cry out because of the glitter: Lamazuna took part and used mineral, natural glitter – and not micro plastic.
Conclusion: Unfortunately, the shampoo of Lamazuna can not quite foam as nice as the competitors in our test. The hair feels clean after shampooing, but they are not as combable as other shampoos. Also, the hair greased relatively quickly, so that the shampoo of Lamazuna had to be applied daily. We would recommend the shampoo to rather dry hair.
Orange-Sage-Shampoo – Rosenrot Manufaktur / 55g for 8,99 Euros
The firm shampoo of Rosenrot Manufaktur is one of the best known and most popular shampoos in the plastic-free and packaging-free scene. Many unpacked shops and even Manufactum now offer solid shampoos. The Orange Sage Shampoo by Rosenrot Manufaktur is excellently suited for fast-greasy, dull hair and slightly itchy scalp. However, the selection at Rosenrot Manufaktur is so great that everyone should be able to find something for yourself.
Conclusion: The orange sage shampoo is definitely one of our favorite shampoos in the bathroom. The hair shines beautifully, can be combed through perfectly and is pleasantly soft. The hair feels wonderfully clean and – unlike other shampoos – only needs to be washed every second day.
Shampootaler Purista – Liebevoll Naturkosmetik / 60g for 8,50 Euros
The white, simple Shampootaler by Liebevoll Naturkosmetik is ideal for normal to sensitive hair and a sensitive scalp. In terms of price, the solid shampoo by Liebevoll Naturkosmetik is definitely the cheapest option, but only available online.
Conclusion: The shampoo Purista foams very intense, which was already a jag too much of a good thing. Anyone who comes fresh from the conventional shampoo sector will be amazed at how strong natural cosmetics can foam. In contrast to the other solid shampoos this was rather odorless, which we did not find bad. The most important thing is that the hair ends up nicely combed and comfortable and looking clean. Exactly these points the shampoo has fulfilled.
