Thousands of people are heading back into the city center on Friday to make the bargains of their lives. Every year anew. But do we really need Black Friday? We do not think so. And certainly we do not believe that we all save money.

Black Friday
Black Friday is known for the rich discounts. But is this day really useful? Perhaps. At least, if you think well, what you want to buy and what you really need. Justine has also shared in a post their tips on how you can afford Fair Fashion with a small budget. In doing so, we would like to address her second point – avoid impulse purchases.
It’s not a good deal, if you don’t need it.
If you ran a statistics on purchases on Black Friday, the impulse purchases are probably very far ahead. The big discount codes will not let us think twice about whether we really need the product or not. We buy it immediately. We basically have to, because there will be no rebate tomorrow. That’s the big problem on Black Friday. We don’t think anymore. We don’t buy consciously anymore.
Why we don’t save money on Black Friday
Just a few years ago we wondered why people are running after so many discount codes to save money. We happened to be in the city center and we were shocked by the crowd. Everyone had several shopping bags in their hands and rushed from shop to shop. As mentioned above, Black Friday is often just to make the bargain of your life. But there is hardly an explicit shopping list. There may be wish lists, but they may be too long. In the end, we end up spending more money on a new product than simply repairing or using old equipment.
After all, new products cost more than old ones to repair or second-hand ones.
Anyone who cries out loud now and believes that this is no longer the case, especially in technology devices today, may want to look around at Backmarket. There you will find remanufactured devices. It does not always have to be new. Let’s appreciate the resources and consume them to the end before we buy something new.

How you can really save money
Of course, once we have given you some insight into our opinion, we do not want to just leave you standing like that. That’s why you get a few tips on how you can really save money as follows.
- Upcycling
You don’t like your product anymore? Then make yourself something new out of it instead of buying something new. For example, anyone who doesn’t dare to use the product can bring garments to the tailor shop. At least there you will be helped and hopefully you’ll end up with a new favorite piece in the closet.
- Repairing/Fixing
The same applies to the item ‘Repair’. If a piece of clothing breaks, do not throw it away immediately, but have it repaired. We have already repaired so many parts and saved a lot of money. Because buying a new product would have been much more expensive.
- Clothes Exchange Parties
Never organized a clothes exchange party? But then it is about time! Invite all your friends, everyone brings things he/she no longer wants / wants to carry. You can then exchange your things among each other.
- Second Hand
Do not buy something new immediately, but look at flea markets, social department stores or second-hand stores. Even on clothes gyroscope or eBay one finds today fast. Speaking of which, it does not have to mean that second-hand products do not work anymore. We got a lot of things that would have cost twice to four times as much. Buying second-hand goods not only saves good resources, but also saves a lot of money.
